tu fui ego eris is a Latin quote that resonates quite deeply with me, I could easily say that this quote is something that has had a very deep impact on my personality, I came across this quote about 5-6 years ago, It translates to "as you are, I was; as I am so shall you be."
To me it represents the perpetual cycle of us wanting to be like someone or try to acquire the desirable qualities of someone and then us reaching that level this is universally applicable as the person you look up to has another person that he/she looks up to

that, in essence, is the cycle of progress and development.
This quote can be found transcribed on a plaque within the Capuchin crypts of Rome, Italy, in an ossuary that allows visitors to view the skeletons of deceased monks so as to reflect upon their own mortality.
But one common destination to all these people who look up to each other in the endless possible permutations and combinations is the beauty and inevitability of death.
As you are, I was; as I am, so shall you be.
